Jordan Chariton Back In Michigan,
Announces Major Corruption Story
On the morning of June 9th, Jordan Chariton posted a request for financial assistance through the service "mailchimp", within which he announced that a major scandalous corruption story was afoot, but that he was unable to give the details of his whereabouts for security purposes (when your job is to rock the boat, you should understandably take such precautions). There are, however, some indicators that can shine light on the unfolding story...
Mr. Chariton, a progressive journalist formerly employed with The Young Turks, has, over the course of several months, gathered extensive reporting on the water crisis in Flint, MI. His research culminated in an article published in TruthDig, detailing how political corruption and fraudulent science created the ongoing issue. His investigations, it would seem, are far from over. While he declined to state the specifics of his whereabouts in both the "Mailchimp" email and subsequent YouTube video, a photograph released with his email depicting him at work in the field contains a chalkboard in the top left corner of the image revealing the words "Wolverine Lager", a craft brew by Wolverine State brewing Co., local to Michigan. Furthermore, it stands to reason that Jordan is investigating a seemingly ugly corruption story that may have branched off of his ongoing reporting on Flint. Quite likely, the same "something major" he announced via a Facebook post a few days prior, on June 6th, depicting Mr. Chariton poking around what appeared to be an abandoned cottage. The subsequent link led to another "mailchimp" email page wherein Jordan Chariton announces that he "has found something big... Really Big. And it has to do with the Flint Water Crisis."
I also attempted examining another photograph taken at the same setting as the previous, this one is of Jordan Chariton with a smirk, lightly dangling a formal-looking piece of paper. This photograph accompanied with humor on a Facebook post is a simple announcement of fault, but the picture is relevant, as, whatever that paper is Jordan is holding was at the table during the time, and likely, should it not turn out to be the beer tasting menu for "Wolverine State Brewing", could prove to be relevant.
Chariton is pictured above snooping about an abandoned structure of some kind, residential in appearance, within the Facebook post announcing he had found something "Big... Really big" in Flint. Perplexed over some of the clues, I reached out to Jordan via email, Twitter, and previous contacts to attempt to glean some anticipatory clues with regard to his research, with little response. Zee Cohen, a former employee of Jordan Chariton and The Young Turks, expressed little support for Jordan, but did relay credit to Chariton for pursuing the sorts of real-life stories he investigates. According to Cohen, TYT did not readily hand Jordan the assignments we have come to love him for. By her account, he had to fight to get those stories, and more power to the people of Standing Rock and Flint, MI that he did.

Whatever the unfolding scandal, let's hope he remains safer than many who shine a light on corruption.
