Bomb Threats Made, Media Ordered To Remain Silent
On November 13th, Wes Taylor threatened the Dallas Public Library on Young St in Dallas, TX via Facebook with a bomb threat should "Democrats" not "stop this conspiracy shit". Shortly thereafter, Taylor threatened the office of "D Magazine" should they not cease from publishing the work of activist and journalist Barrett Brown, former anonymous hacktivist and founder of "The Pursuance Project".
Wes Taylor reportedly threatened the Dallas Public Library, according to Mr. Brown, "if the Democrats win". Presumably the nitwit in question assumed that his local library was run by the DNC, or somehow otherwise in control of the outcome of the election. In conjunction with the threat made to the office of "D Magazine" , Taylor referred to Mr. Brown as a "Freemason". The publication was told by the Dallas PD that the culprit was not a threat, albeit nonetheless ordered to remain silent on the matter. For clarification, this is a case of people in positions of power ordering a media outlet not to publish something; A big deal, even disregarding the fact that the matter in question is a bomb threat. The magazine passed along the local authorities' orders not to publish anything to Barrett Brown, who, in true hacktivist fashion, responded by posting an image of the perpetrator on Twitter (seen above), along with details of the threats made, and statements on the negligence of the police department to arrest the culprit. Reportedly, the Dallas PD pulled Taylor in for questioning, and thereafter released him, despite knowledge of the 2 threats. I reached out to the Dallas PD, who declined to comment on whether the suspect had been detained, or whether protections had been offered to Brown, or D Magazine. Other authorities involved in the investigation have likewise ceased responding to journalists seeking information.
D Magazine had published an article on the matter, which has since been deleted (and subsequently archived).
